Denise Davis

Denise Davis, formally Moffatt, writes: “I came to Cross in 1967 at the age of 13. Our family moved from the suburb of Waukesha back to Milwaukee (my birth place) right after the riots to live right across the street from this church. My parents truly wanted to get involved with working for peace and justice. They heard of Pastor Joe accepting the call to Cross Lutheran and valued his beliefs so we joined his church. I was in Pastor Joe’s first confirmation class and the following year I met my husband, Guy (who lived in Illinois), as his sister lived below us and introduced us. We were married here in 1973, had our two daughters baptized, communed and confirmed here. Our daughters were both married here, and the oldest had her two sons baptized here.”
